After I sold my first company in 2000 I needed something to do. So I built a treehouse. It was great, I spent a lot of time in it, like the week or so when I was deciding whether to buy Apple or start another company.
We sold our house to a developer in 2002, moved to Eagle. They of course tore it down, built a McMansion on the property. Perhaps that was my first tangible sign of the societal decline we’re now experiencing. Because who in their right mind would tear down a treehouse to build a McMansion??
