my first app

My first idea in technology came in 1989. I was going to sell toll free voice mailbox #'s to truckers.

Back then long distance was really expensive. So the idea was that a trucker's family would call a toll free # to leave a message. Then the trucker would call the toll free # to listen to the messages. All at a fraction of long distance cost.

I was going to do it. But then I came up with what I thought was a better idea -- The Dine Line. I was a waiter at the time. I thought it'd be a good idea if people could call a phone number to find out where to eat and hear what's on the menu.

The Dine Line was my first app. Touchtone apps were where the Internet began. Here's the application to US West and my first advertisement.

Wow, what a trip this has been.
