The other night in the Dots chat Stephen P. and LTS talked about health. I flexed with this picture from 2 weeks ago. Mine and Renee's health are due to what we eat -- and don't eat.
I just saw this come through my feed, from my old friend Rich Roll. Here's a pic of Rich, his wife Julie and I at a health conference in Telluride 8 years ago.
Rich interviews Centenarian Mike Fremont, a 100 year old marathon runner who’s whole food plant based. Here's the full interview:
I’m 63. Renee and I are forever grateful to brother Rich for the start of our journey 8 years ago from vegan to whole food plant based. I’ve had my differences with him. In fact I've gone out of my way to rip him - he deserved it. I'm honored that Rich once banned and blocked me. But to Rich's credit, he also paid me a high compliment when he said I was “an iconoclast”. C’est la vie.
I want to stress there's a big difference between "vegan" and whole food plant based. Cheese, chips, candy, and soda are vegan. In whole food plant based we don't eat anything processed, with a face or a mother.
In the chat Stephen P. mentioned "diet". What we do isn't a diet - it's a way of life. Stephen P. also mentioned "strict". Strict sounds punitive. Whole food plant based is anything but that. We reward ourselves daily - with delicious food.
Keto is bs, it's all about the Benjamins. Restricting calories or counting calories is the wrong path. Diets don't work. Change your life to change your life!
It’s great to see Rich carrying the message.
