I'm a proud American sick from the bitching
gm,
Yes, last night's debate was hard to watch.
I get it, our country is hurting. Ralph Nader has been pointing this out for years. Thomas Frank wrote a great book about it.
For too long, I have followed and paid for Twitter accounts who call themselves journalists. Twitter celebrities with nothing unique to say, other than complaining about how bad things are here in America - a country I love.
I'm unfollowing all of you, and I'm cancelling my paid subscriptions to your business model that amounts to nothing more than misery loves company. If you wanna call that cancel culture, fine. I call it capitalism.
Instead, I'm going to focus on solutions. For me, that means finding representatives that reflect my values then helping them get elected to office. Because I'm an American and I love my country.
I'd tell you what it'd take to earn my money and attention. But you don't deserve that. Besides. You don't read comments. If you're half as smart as you claim, you'll figure it out. If not, good riddance.
So long and thanks for the fish
