gm, Just finished this outstanding book by Annie Jacobsen. I read it over a week, but could have read it one day.

Which brings me back to Paul C. Warnke's essay – Apes on a Treadmill. And to this question that Mr. Warnke poses: "If the apes know how to get off the treadmill, why don't we?"

Investing another penny in nuclear defense is insanity. What we should be doing is disarming, using that money here at home. But Trumpers want to spend trillions on nuclear weapons - just read Project 2025.
