Last week I wrote a blog post - Fuck You Too Damien. It didn't go over very well with Heni, seems they've blocked me. Maybe not with Hirst or the Dots either?
C'est la Vie
But it all got me wondering. Who was first to use the bird in a photograph?
I could be this photo of Grace Slick taken by Herbie Greene -- my friends at 1XRun sent me the link to the story.
"It is one of Greene’s most recognized images, and captures the singer’s audacious personality in front of the iconic wall of his Baker Street apartment in ’66 that became the background for a variety of his legendary photographs. Slick was first photographed in front of the wall when she was in The Great Society band, and later during her Jefferson Airplane era".
In a twist of serendipity, 1XRun had a blotto art version of Herbie's iconic photo for sale during yesterday's NTWRK show, signed by Herbie. I was fortunate enough to buy it. Score!
I think it's wonderful, that emotions and art are so intertwined. And how serendipitous that my crass, fuck you too post gave way to a discovery of more art.
tty next time,
