Tonight Lori Grace mentioned me in a tweet. Lori is a kind and loving person.
Her tweet reminded me of why I bought her NFT. I bought her NFT to say what Lori might not be able to, for fear of losing business.
The right is attacking LGBTQ people, people of color, immigrants, freedom from religion, public education, social security, healthcare, the environment, and yes - crypto (they fear a cashless society).
They want to wipe out democracy and install permanent authoritarian rule that governs as a theocracy. Their goal is to establish dominion over religion, family, education, media, entertainment, business, and government.
On twitter there's two accounts who thoroughly report on this underreported threat to our society - Jennifer Cohn and Katherine Stewart. Follow them, read their reporting.
Buying NFTs from Lori, or buying an NFT from some project that gives a puny percentage of their net to some charity is fine. But if that's the end of your activism, you haven't done nuthin'. You're actually hurting Lori more than you're helping her.
What matters most is voting. Vote in every neighborhood, town, city, state, and federal election. Vote as if yours and Lori's well being depends on it - because it does.
One more. There's an outstanding documentary right now on PBS - The U.S. and the Holocaust.
"The film tackles a range of questions that remain essential to our society today, including how racism influences policies related to immigration and refugees as well as how governments and people respond to the rise of authoritarian states that manipulate history and facts to consolidate power".
Watch this series. It's history to be reckoned with.
Buying Lori's NFTs supports her. But if you really wanna help her, get your ass to the voting booth. Help others to vote. Because voting is the one right that makes all other rights possible.
tty next time,
